engineering 2014 The Tapered amplifier was designed to amplify the power of the laser. The goal of an initial design is to create a very simple design that will account for cost, efficiency, accuracy, repetition, and any other set parameters. The foot print is 160mm x 101mm. The design was optimized to have limited adjustability, focusing instead on stability. It is composed of A few machined aluminum parts, done in house, and several purchased products. The central component is a solid Aluminum "V-block" to position the lenses, with a recessed slot to fasten the TPA and the CR to the assembly.
